Shepherd's Garden

  • Client (Owner): American Baptist Homes of the West www.gsbchurch.com/community-campus/senior-housing/
  • Client (Developer): Beacon Development Group
  • Architect: Environmental Works
  • 31,700 SF, slab on grade concrete with three levels of wood framed construction, built on a 97,700 SF site. There are 39 one-bedroom units and a manager’s unit. Scope includes a significant amount of utility infrastructure to serve the new building. Shared areas include a library, multi-purpose room, computer learning center, and two roof decks.
  • Low income housing is recognized as a much-needed resource in Snohomish County and the project will offer affordable housing for extremely low income seniors over 62 with incomes at or below 30 percent of the area median. Located just steps from the existing church building, the new community will include support services on-site and offer referral services.

The project is a partnership between the Good Shepherd Baptist Church, who donated the land, and American Baptist Homes of the West, who provides faith-based affordable housing across the country. The result of five years of planning, it is well-supported by the community, receiving a HUD 202 grant and local Snohomish County funds.
