Sustainable Construction
The Walsh commitment to green and sustainable building practices is more than theoretical. Our knowledge of sustainable building methods and materials results from experience on a wide array of projects. During pre-construction we evaluate environmentally sustainable alternatives, paying particular attention to construction cost versus life-cycle costs, durability and overall building performance.
Walsh has significant green building experience and a number of LEED accredited employees capable of providing guidance on sustainability issues. This proactive participation has allowed us to set industry standards and achieve industry recognition, including the first gold-rated historic renovation in the United States.
The Walsh Group is a member of the US Green Building Council, the non-profit organization behind LEED™ Certification. We are also founding members of the Oregon Natural Step Network, an organization that works to increase sustainability in the business community.
