From a shoebox filing system in the back of a pickup truck to a leader in the Northwest construction industry, Walsh Construction Co. has been building the Portland community and all of Oregon since 1961. In those early years, after the completion of their first apartment project, the Walsh brothers moved on to larger endeavors. Within the first decade of operation, significant affordable and college housing projects established the up and coming Walsh Construction Co. as a solid competitor in the market.
Dedication and a growing reputation for quality work attracted other uniquely talented individuals. Their collective efforts paid off as Walsh grew steadily, adding high-rise apartments, museums, medical facilities and high-end resorts to its list of capabilities. By the early 80's, we were working in steel, concrete, and wood and were ready to branch out. One brother headed north to Seattle, Washington, to set up a new office closer to the college housing work that was becoming a focal point.
The Oregon region now serves a substantial client group with diverse construction systems and a broad range of project scale - from $250,000 tenant improvements to $100,000,000 residential neighborhoods and concrete towers.
