Novelty Hill Winery Receives Second AIA Award

SEATTLE: The American Institute of Architects (AIA) recognized Novelty Hill Winery's interior architecture, naming it a 2008 recipient of the AIA’s Institute Honor Award, an architectural equivalent of a Pulitzer. Recently, Mithun also received the AIA Seattle Chapter Commendation Award for 2009.

Located in Washington's new winery destination in Woodinville, this 31,426 SF facility built on a three acre site just north of the Columbia Winery and Chateau Ste. Michelle, is now home to Novelty Hill Winery and Januik Winery. This tilt-up concrete building includes a spacious tasting room complete with fireplace, wood-beam ceilings and several skylights. The tasting room dramatically overlooks the aging and fermentation room. The building also features four private function rooms, wine production area, and a state-of-the-art HVAC system with dry mist humidification system to reduce wine evaporation from barrels.
